Phil Soto was a calming influence out of the Long Island Ducks bullpen this season.

His teammates and manager said he had a poised demeanor about him that was typical of someone much older and more experienced. His poise has paid off, as the 21-year-old turned in a sparkling season and has been named the winner of the USPL Rookie Reliever of the Year Award for 2036.

The Long Beach, California native won the award with 20 saves in 37 relief appearances, 109 strikeouts in 74 innings and a record of 7-1 to go with his 0.61 ERA.

He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Govaart van Ankeren of the Long Island Ducks finished second in voting, while Magnus Belli of the Valley View Cougars finished third.
