Soto Spins Shutout Sunday, August 24th, 2036 Today was Phil Soto's turn in the rotation for the Long Island Ducks and he made the most of it, shutting out the Memphis Music on 3 hits. The 21-year-old right-hander led the Ducks to an easy 6-0 victory, allowing no walks and tallying 11 strikeouts. "I hope we miss him next time," Memphis manager Martin Richards said. "Soto certainly pitched a strong game against us today. He was in a groove, throwing everything for strikes. Throwing hard. Changing speeds." Looking at his pitching stats so far this season, Soto has 37 relief appearances, pitched 58.1 innings and fashioned a 5-1 record with a 0.62 ERA.
