Northville Halts Ramírez's Hitting Steak Saturday, June 7th, 2036 Maybe it really is taboo to talk about a hitting streak before it's over. Hours after speaking to the press about his 20-game hitting streak, Atlantic City center fielder Román Ramírez went hitless in 3 at-bats today at Sonics Ballpark. The sudden hitting drought came as the Sonics took the 8-7 win over the Northville Eclipse. "Nope, it's not magic," Ramírez said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits."
