Tuesday, August 12th, 2036
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Carlos Barrera of the Belvedere Park Rawhides had one of those moments when he went 5-for-7 at the plate today in the 13-11 win over the Lancaster Farmers at Farmers Field.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 24-year-old center fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Carlos Barrera flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run triple in the 5th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 8th, singled in the 10th and grounded out in the 11th.
A look at his current stats shows Barrera with a .371 average, 2 home runs, 22 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He has played in 43 games.
