Miners Mesa Gone for Year
Wednesday, July 9th, 2036
When Arturo Mesa was hurt against the Virginia Palladium Sox, the Marquette Miners were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 21-year-old starting pitcher suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Mesa would miss 9 months of the season.
This year Mesa has fanned 19 in 22.1 innings and collected a 1-3 record with a 7.66 ERA.
