Alaskan Humpbacks starting pitcher Octávio Valdéz said he loves to come into the game when the outcome is in jeopardy.

He certainly did a good job of impacting his team's outcomes this season, as he has been named the winner of the 2036 Reliever of the Year Award for the USSL Triple A.

"There's no better feeling than running in from the bullpen with the game on the line and your heart pumping," Valdéz said.

On the season, the Juarez, Mexico native had 8 saves in 40 relief appearances, 82 strikeouts in 87 innings and a record of 3 wins and 4 losses to go with his 2.07 ERA.

He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Santiago Rivera of the Sunset District Fog finished second in voting, while Omara Moctar of the Augusta Timber Hawks finished third.
