Towns Clobbers 3 HR Against Longnecks Sunday, August 17th, 2036 Whatever Travis Towns ate for breakfast before his game against the Bloomington Longnecks today, it gave him some impressive power. The Brinkley right fielder smacked three balls up and out of the park at Lookouts Ballpark. His home run barrage led the Belugas to take the 12-4 victory over the Longnecks. "When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all." On his 3-homer day, he went 3-for-4, scored 3 times, drove in 5 and put on a display that history will remember. Travis Towns grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Robby Oglethorpe in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Ron Mingo in the 5th, was hit by a pitch in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Ricardo Pérez in the 8th. This year Towns has hit at a .268 clip with 48 RBIs, 16 home runs and 37 runs scored. |
