3AAA Pitcher of the Month Goes to López Friday, August 1st, 2036 Gustavo López was ecstatic to win July's M3L Triple A Pitcher of the Month honors today. The 34-year-old Houston pitcher thanked fans, his coaches and the voters for the honor -- despite the fact that he deserved much of the credit himself. López's star burned bright last month as he made 12 relief appearances, notching 10 saves and 5 strikeouts in 13 innings. He held opposing hitters to a .174 average to put up his 1-0 mark and 2.08 ERA. So far this season López has chalked up a 5.08 ERA with 19 saves. In 33 relief appearances he has registered a 1-6 won-lost record and struck out 17 batters in 33.2 innings, while walking 17. He has allowed teams to hit .317 against him. |
