Holden Rosen Grupp said his performance in 2036 was a "statement" to the entire league.
"As an impending free agent you feel like you've got something to prove, something to work for to ensure that next contract," said the Seattle Aviators pitcher, who is seemingly heading for free agency.
The bullpen ace certainly proved himself this year, and he has won the Menard's Third League Reliever of the Year Award.
The Oklahoma City, Oklahoma native had a 1.69 ERA this season over 48 innings of work. He made 42 relief appearances and had 29 saves, 67 strikeouts, 8 walks and a record of 0-3. Opponent batters hit only .157 against him.
Pedro Valdéz of the Ft. Worth Cattlemen finished second in voting, while Joe Khokar of the Panama City Piranhas finished third.
