Piranhas End Bortenschlager's Streak
Thursday, September 18th, 2036
Max Bortenschlager, second baseman for the Buffalo White Walkers, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Panama City Piranhas today. Not only did the Piranhas break his 40-game hitting streak, they also beat Buffalo by the score of 7-0.
"Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Bortenschlager said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."
So far this season Bortenschlager is hitting .328 with 12 home runs.
