Miao Best Rookie This Year Monday, November 3rd, 2036 Last spring Yu Miao was happy to just make the 84s roster. He was overjoyed to see the name "Miao" on the lineup card, too. Now the 22-year-old Greenville center fielder has capped off his debut season by winning the coveted United States Silver League Newcomer of the Year Award. Miao won the award by hitting .296 and collecting 120 hits, 14 home runs, 50 RBIs and 18 walks, along with 61 runs scored and a .329 on-base percentage. Elroy Quaid of the Oakland Oaks finished second in voting, while Yu-eh Mi of the Nashville Outlaws finished third. |
