Browns Come Up Short at Oakland
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Oakland Oaks and the Cleveland Browns, Elroy Quaid was the difference-maker. The Oakland right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. Júlio Rodríguez earned the save, his 23rd, for the Oaks. Oakland is now 52-34.
The Browns had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Oaks going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old catcher Colin O'Connell came to the plate. O'Connell hit a run-scoring triple on a 1-0 forkball from Cleveland hurler Alejandro Araya. It was O'Connell's 2nd triple of the year.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Quaid.
