Calhoun, Rainbow Mermaids Too Much for Browns
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids knocked off the Cleveland Browns, 13-4, at Factory of Sadness. Tony Calhoun, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Northern Virginia won. The second baseman went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. The Rainbow Mermaids go to 45-38, putting them 4th in the Silver League.

With Northern Virginia leading 4-0 in the top of the fifth, Calhoun came up to bat against Cleveland pitcher Powell Beauregard. Calhoun hit a fastball to left-center for a bases-clearing double. His 15th double of the season put the Rainbow Mermaids on top, 7-0.

"I felt good up there," said Calhoun. "I saw the ball well."
