The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC got a superb performance from pitcher Quentin Bowers, but the Mississippi Mockingbirds still won the game, 3-2. Bowers was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings allowing 2 runs. Mississippi goes to 38-40, Thunder Bay to 39-39.

The Mockingbirds were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when designated hitter Javier Sánchez turned a 0-1 fastball from Tim Sandaele into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave Mississippi a thrilling 3-2 win.
