Home Field Advantage: Quiñones, Phoenix Open Round 2037 with Win
|
The Phoenix Hotspur moved to within one game of the Round 2038 today, downing the visiting New Orleans Voodoo at Chase Field by a score of 3-1. Hotspur right-hander José Quiñones was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Hotspur a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2037.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the ninth inning, but Roger Taylor didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and New Orleans trailing 3-1, Taylor retired Vicente Romero to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Taylor, with a wink.
