In a crucial game, the Bethesda Atoms put on their best show, beating the Asheville Highlanders by a final score of 7-0 today. Walt Miller earned player of the game honors, as he was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Bethesda and Asheville are now tied at 2 wins apiece in the best-of-5 affair.
Bethesda relied on the hitting of Fa-tang Wang to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Atoms on top, 2-0. For the game, Wang had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Miller. "And not try to do too much."
