The Brinkley Belugas moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Bakersfield Nobles on the road at Jerome Grounds by a score of 5-3. Belugas third baseman Luis García was named player of the game after he hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The win gives the Belugas a 3-2 advantage in the best-of-5 PL AAA Championship.

The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until García delivered big-time for Brinkley, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off José Sánchez. The game-changing hit put the Belugas on top, 5-3.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," García told the Brinkley News.
