PL AAA Championship Game 1 Victory for López and Bakersfield

Their bats were silent and Bakersfield had a rookie on the mound. No problem.
On a day when the Nobles struggled to string together much offense, the club got a big boost from 22-year-old starter Alberto López. The right-hander quieted the Brinkley Belugas at Jerome Grounds to help Bakersfield take the 3-1 decision and seize a 1-0 advantage in the best-of-5 PL AAA Championship.
The Belugas had trouble solving López, who surrendered no earned runs on 1 hit over 6.1 innings.
"I like how we're playing right now," said López.
Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow at Jerome Grounds in Bakersfield. Slated to start are Daniel Edwards for Brinkley and Elton Coalan for Bakersfield.
