Raucous Ballpark of Wellsville Crowd Propels Rams to 3-0 Victory; Series Tied at 2
The Ladue Rams and the Long Island Ducks will take the PL R Championchip to a decisive 5th game. Facing a must-win situation today, the Rams shut out the Ducks 3-0 at Ballpark of Wellsville to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. In spite of the loss, Long Island right-hander Phil Soto was named player of the game for a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball.

In the bottom of the fifth, Ladue second baseman Junji Ito had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Ito stroked a 3-run home run to right. It made the score 3-0, Ladue. For the game, he went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Ito said after the game.

The next game is set to be played Sunday, September 14th, 2036 at Ducks Park in East Hampton. The scheduled starters for the game are Juan Colón for the Ladue Rams and Joop Els for the the Long Island Ducks.
