Host Dodgers Drop Pivotal Game , Now Trail Series -
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC and the Brooklyn Dodgers will take the Silver League Championship to a decisive th game. Facing a must-win situation today, the Northern Lions BC shut out the Dodgers 1-0 at Ebbetts Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. In spite of the loss, Brooklyn right-hander Harrison Tuff was named player of the game for a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings allowing 1 run.
It could have been a different outcome for Thunder Bay, had it not been for Rafael Pueblo, the 30-year old left fielder . Pueblo contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put Thunder Bay up, 1-0.
"I'm not sweating it," Brooklyn manager Erock Genova told reporters after the loss. "We'll recover. They say it's all about winning games, but I would put up with a heck of a lot of losses as long as we hoist that trophy at the end of the year."
