Almost There: Thunder Bay On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 4-0 Win
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC and the St. Louis Coeur will take the Silver League Championship to a decisive th game. Facing a must-win situation today, the Northern Lions BC shut out the Coeur 4-0 at The BFIB to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. In spite of the loss, St. Louis right-hander David Moore was named player of the game for a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of shutout ball.

Thunder Bay used the timely hitting of Robert La Caze to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Northern Lions BC on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It's hard to overstate how much this mattered to us, especially in a short series," Thunder Bay manager Scott Williams said.
