Torrez, Seattle Open Third League Championship with Win
|
In a pivotal Game , the Seattle Aviators were hoping for a big game from starter Luis Torrez. They got one.
The right-hander shut out the Echo Park Lakers, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 4-0 victory. The Aviators took the 4-0 win over the Echo Park Lakers to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.
Torrez earned the win, going 8.1 strong innings for Seattle. The right-hander allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 11. Echo Park hitters had little success against him.
"Luis is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Seattle manager Mau Delgado.
