The Portland Evergreens moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Ft. Worth Cattlemen on the road at The Cattle Pen by a score of 7-3. Evergreens right fielder Chris Payling was named player of the game after he was 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win gives the Evergreens a - advantage in the best-of- Round 1.

Portland used the clutch hitting of Yu-shu Tseng to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Evergreens the lead, 3-1. For the game, Tseng had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"We lost," Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson said later. "We'll deal with it. The series isn't over."
