Game was big. So was Neil Franson.

The Greenville starter rose to the occasion at Pacesetter Park today, earning player of the game honors after leading the 84s to a crucial 4-0 victory over the Toledo Stingers. Franson threw 6 innings of shutout ball as the 84s won on the road to seize a - lead in the best-of- Silver League Championship.

It could have been a different outcome for Greenville, had it not been for Jesús Torres, the 27-year old shortstop . Torres contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Greenville up, 2-0.

"We're feeling good about this," said 84s manager John Bosma. "We have got an advantage now and we just need to keep the pressure on."
