Blackadder, Mississippi Start Silver League Championship Strong with Home Win
Game was big. So was Edmund Blackadder.

In leading Mississippi to a crucial 5-2 victory over the D.C. Divided at Magnolia Park today, the Mississippi starter rose to the occasion, tossing 6 good innings and earning player of the game honors. Blackadder threw 6 innings allowing 2 runs as the Mockingbirds defended their home field to seize a - lead in the best-of- Silver League Championship.

Yin-reng Hsueh aided the Mississippi cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.

"I liked his command," said Mississippi manager Beau Carsten. "Edmund was throwing strikes."
