Silver Sox Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Houston 1837 BBC got a sterling performance from pitcher Gary Mason, but the Silver Sox still prevailed, 2-1. Mason was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Chicago reliever Fred Proctor picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-0. Rust Cohle was collared with the loss. The Silver Sox, now 38-17, have won 5 in a row.
Jonathan Gunner made it 2-1 in favor of Chicago when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with one out in the top of the 13th. The Silver Sox went on to win.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Gunner.
