Harbor Whales Squelch Baby Lakers Offense in Shutout Win
|
With third baseman Josh Wiggins leading the charge, the Greenport Harbor Whales defeated the Bompton Baby Lakers, 3-0, at Field of the Browns. Wiggins, who is tied for 2nd in the 3R with a .531 slugging percentage, went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Reginald Woodger in relief. His record improves to 7-3. Craig Wash took the loss. Greenport goes to 66-30. The win puts them 7 games up in their division.
Javier Botín broke a 0-0 tie in the top of the second with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Harbor Whales in front, 1-0. For the game, Botín drove in one run.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Botín told the Greenport Citizen.
