Todd goes 3-for-4 to Pull Baby Lakers to .500
|
Bompton beat Hicksville at Field of the Browns, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to left fielder Philip Todd, who earned player of the game honors. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Bompton goes to 44-44, Hicksville to 53-35.
Had Baldwin Biele not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Biele hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Baby Lakers.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Biele said.
