Hounds Win at Amarillo, 7-3
|
The Hounds had to overcome a good performance from Amarillo pitcher Jack Walker to claim a 7-3 win at Ballpark of Henderson. Walker went 5 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Trevor Bowden was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 10 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts. Miguel Sánchez was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
Hicksville used the clutch hitting of Nihad Boja to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Hounds ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Boja told the Hicksville Daily.
The Hounds have an impressive 52-33 record.
