Baby Lakers Bump Off Rhinos, 5-1
|
Dan Webster pitched a gem to lead Bompton to a 5-1 victory over the Redwood Rhinos. Webster got the win, improving to 2-5. He allowed 5 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Webster allowed 1 earned run. The 6th-place Baby Lakers have won 4 in a row.
Bompton used the timely hitting of Vicente Colón to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Baby Lakers on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I thought we played a nice game," Colón told the Bompton Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
