The Houston 1837 BBC stopped the Cleveland Browns, 5-2, behind an impressive performance from José Corona. The 32-year old second baseman made life miserable for Cleveland pitching. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Gus Osborne got credit for the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 6.2 innings. José Ledezma got credit for the save for Houston. It was his 11th of the year.
Houston took the lead in the bottom of the sixth when Corona hit a run-scoring single. His 35th hit of the season made the score 3-2, Houston.
"I thought we played a nice game," Corona told the Houston Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Houston is now 22-29.
