Warheads Take Down Deer, 2-1

The Sheridan Deer and Amarillo Warheads provided some drama at Sheridan Forest.
Juan Capmany pitched well, but his team, the Sheridan Deer, still dropped a 2-1 decision to the Amarillo Warheads at Sheridan Forest. Amarillo reliever Domingo Córdova picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Juan Capmany was collared with the loss. Charlie Bottari got credit for the save for Amarillo. It was his 18th of the year.
Amarillo relied on the hitting of Lorenzo Ortíz to pick up the win. The left fielder ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the Warheads on top, 2-0. For the game, Ortíz had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Ortíz told the Amarillo Daily News.
At 44-25, Amarillo is in second place in the Menard's R.
