Biscuits Win at Amarillo, 8-4
|
The Montgomery Biscuits defeated the Amarillo Submarinos, 8-4, in USSL Rookie action at Terriers Ballpark, with Montgomery pitcher Matt Rodríguez named player of the game. Even with the win, the Biscuits have a dismal 26-70 record.
Montgomery used the timely hitting of Víctor Ortíz to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Biscuits ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"It was a solid team effort," said Ortíz after the game.
