7 Straight Wins for Beavers
|
Though he had a great game, Dana George could not single-handedly produce a win for Montgomery. Northwest Territory won the game, 5-2. George was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Northwest Territory reliever Arnold Mills got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Paolo Speranza was tagged with the loss. Montgomery now has a 7-game losing streak.
Northwest Territory used a timely hit from Kent Potter to get the win. The catcher delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Beavers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Potter told the Northwest Territory Chronicle.
