Ogallala rode a good effort from starter Luis Mancebo to beat the Valley View Cougars at Nebraska Aquarium. The final score was 1-0. Carlos Menéndez earned the save for Ogallala, his 4th of the year. Even with the win, the Octopi have a dismal 31-64 record.

The Cougars had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Octopi going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 17-year old shortstop Abdelaziz Bouteflika came to the plate. Bouteflika hit a run-scoring single on a 3-1 cutter from Valley View hurler Pepe Fontirroig. It was Bouteflika's 20th hit of the year.

Bouteflika attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
