The inspired effort of Ladue right fielder Tillmam Cru was not enough to prevent a 5-4 loss to the Ogallala Octopi. Cru was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. The winner was Geunhye Hong in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Rubén Medina took the loss. The win puts the Octopi at 30-61, while the Rams drop to 65-26.

The Octopi used some clutch hitting to beat the Rams, a good example being the at-bat of Cameron Woolever in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, Woolever gave his team the lead, 4-2, when he hit a 2-run single.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Woolever told the Ogallala News.
