Alarcon, Ducks Dispatch Octopi

The 2036 season is getting ugly for Ogallala.
The Long Island Ducks eked out a 1-0 win versus the Ogallala Octopi at Ducks Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Rodrigo Alarcon, who captured player of the game honors. Phil Soto was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 18 save opportunities.
Alarcon, who leaned on his fastball, allowed no runs on just 1 hit over 8 innings for the Ducks. For the most part, Ogallala hitters were simply overmatched.
"We did just enough to win," Alarcon said.
The winning continues for Long Island, with the latest making it 10 straight.
