Uruguayans Edge Past Deer, 3-2

The Germantown Uruguayans did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Sheridan Deer at Sheridan Forest. Nobody did more than pitcher Armando Álvarez, who captured player of the game honors. Germantown reliever Louis Fuchs picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-1. Ludovic Laurent was collared with the loss. The Uruguayans now have a record of 29-37 with the win over Sheridan.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With one out, Adam Wiltern hit a 0-1 fastball from Ludovic Laurent for a run-scoring single. It put Germantown in front, 3-2.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Álvarez. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
