Baby Lakers Lose Again, 9-0, to Elephants
|
Gibtown and Bompton met at Field of the Browns in front of a lively crowd.
The Gibtown Elephants relied on the hitting of right fielder Phillam Torralba to stop the Bompton Baby Lakers, 9-0. For the game, Torralba was 3-5 with 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Gibtown reliever Bill Culshaw was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Craig Wash took the loss.
With Gibtown leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Torralba hit a 2-run single off Bompton hurler Craig Wash. It was the 30th hit of the season for Torralba and put his team ahead, 3-0.
"We took it on the chin today," said losing manager Chua-kah Liu.
The losing skid has reached 6 games for Bompton.
