Late Rally by Elephants Secures Win
|
The Gibtown Elephants topped the Hicksville Hounds, 6-4, with catcher Dan Olson playing a big role. Olson was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk for the Elephants in the win. The win was credited to David Fuentes in relief. His record improves to 6-0. Rodrigo Durán took the loss. Kevin MacIvor got credit for the save for Gibtown. It was his 2nd of the year.
Gibtown used the bat of Christian Cole to get the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Elephants ahead, 6-4. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Cole said after the game.
Gibtown is now 27-21.
