Hotspur Academy Deal Hounds Painful Loss
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Academy did just enough to secure a 9-8 victory over the Hicksville Hounds at Ballpark of Fresno. Nobody did more than left fielder Nate Edwards, who captured player of the game honors. Phoenix, at 21-20, sits in 7th place in the Menard's R.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Phoenix trailing 8-7, Edwards hit a fastball from Luis Reyes for a 2-run home run, giving the Hotspur Academy the walk-off win.
"We maximized our offense today," said Phoenix skipper Dexter Shannon. "That makes everyone's life easier."
