The Germantown Uruguayans downed the Hicksville Hounds, 9-3, at Hound Pound. The Uruguayans were led by Walt Davis, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Germantown reliever Brenden Colling, now 1-0. The loser was Luis Reyes. Germantown is now 11-18, while Hicksville is 17-12.

Germantown used the timely hitting of Jerry Reece to capture the win. The first baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Uruguayans ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Reece.
