Baby Lakers Defeat Warheads, 3-1
|
The Bompton Baby Lakers downed the Amarillo Warheads, 3-1, at Field of the Browns. José Vera led the way, going 2-for-3 for Bompton. Bompton is now 12-15, Amarillo 19-8.
With runs few and far between, the Baby Lakers had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Bompton came in the bottom of the fifth inning, when second baseman Baldwin Biele delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Domingo Córdova and made the score 3-1, Baby Lakers. Biele was 3-4 with 3 singles.
"Enjoyed this one," Vera told the Bompton Bulletin. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
