Baby Lakers Throttle Uruguayans, 8-0
|
Bompton starter Harvey Wyles put a stranglehold on the Germantown offense. The right-hander had complete command of his changeup in leading the Baby Lakers to a 8-0 win. In 5.2 innings, Wyles surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Alex Ives locked down his 2nd save.
Cyrillo Watson, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2036 draft, aided the Bompton cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times.
Germantown manager John McGrath said his team was "out of sync."
The Baby Lakers move to 10-13 with the win, while the Uruguayans drop to 9-14.
