The Quebec City Baby Blues defeated the Germantown Uruguayans, 9-6. Earning player of the game honors was second baseman Adam Wiltern, who went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. John Gordon got the win, improving to 2-0. He held the Uruguayans to 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 7.1 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 0. The Baby Blues, now 6-13, have not found much traction so far in 2036.
Quebec City used the timely hitting of Ivo Lokajcek to capture the win. The right fielder socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the first inning to put the Baby Blues ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Lokajcek told the Quebec City Daily News.
