Rhinos Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start
|
Redwood Rhinos starter Keith Lawrence turned in a top-notch performance against the Hicksville Hounds at Hound Pound. The result was a win for the Rhinos, 5-2. Lawrence got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 5 hits and walked 3 over 5.2 innings. Lawrence allowed 1 earned run. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Roberto Sáenz.
Redwood used the bat of Meshach Ashpenaz to capture the win. The third baseman jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rhinos ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a dandy.
"Some wins are easy and some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," Lawrence told the Redwood Gazette.
The Rhinos have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 2nd win in 6 games.
