Elephants Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
Gibtown beat Quebec City on the strength of starter Vadim Rajnev's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 5-2 win. The winner was Hyosuke Matsui in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Fred Bridges took the loss. Ernest Pollock earned the save for Gibtown, his 1st.

Gibtown used the clutch hitting of Armando Ortega to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the 14th inning to put the Elephants ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.

"Good win for us, tough loss for them," said Ortega.

Gibtown has a mark of 4-0 after the win.
