Victory Pushes Flanderses Record to 38-18
|
The Flanderses grabbed a win, 4-1, at Field of the Toros, overcoming a fine effort from Amarillo pitcher Yasunobu Suisha. Suisha went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The winner was Masaki Ito in relief. His record improves to 8-2. Yasunobu Suisha took the loss. Salvador Graciani earned the save for Hudsonville, his 1st of the year.
A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Flanderses sent 21-year-old designated hitter Olkhovsky Gennadiyevich to the plate with runners on 2nd and 3rd. The youngster shook off the pressure and reached on an error by the P, driving in 2 runs, to put Hudsonville on top, 4-1.
"I like what I saw today," said Hudsonville manager Altti Salo, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
The Flanderses have an impressive 38-18 record.
