Gibson, Beavers Wallop Fire
|
The 2036 season is getting ugly for Franklin.
Getting a good performance from first baseman Reginald Gibson, the Northwest Territory Beavers defeated the Franklin Fire, 10-1. Gibson went 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Beavers. Jorge Veráquez got the win, improving to 4-3. He held the Fire to no earned runs on 4 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 8 and walking 1.
In the top of the first, Gibson pounced on a 1-1 fastball from Napoleon Vitagliano and hit a 2-run home run. It put Northwest Territory on top, 2-0.
"We didn't put up much resistance," said losing manager Mark Davis.
Their 24-29 record puts the Beavers 6th in the Silver R.
