The Montgomery Biscuits beat the Amarillo Submarinos, 8-5, at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. The Biscuits got a fine performance from second baseman Roberto Martínez, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Sebastiaan Roelands got credit for the save for Montgomery. It was his 1st of the year. The 8th-place Biscuits have won 4 in a row.
Montgomery right fielder Rodney McClellan contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a slider into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 30th hit of the season and put the Biscuits ahead, 8-5.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Martínez told the Montgomery Today.
